With sadness, we announce the passing of Charles Anderson on May 31, 2026, with his wife of 63 years, Irene, by his side. Born January 5, 1936, in St. Vital, MB, Charlie was the youngest son of Robert and Phyllis Anderson. He grew up in Dugald, MB, later settling in Winnipeg where he built a career as a carpenter, eventually becoming Superintendent of the City of Winnipeg Facilities Maintenance Division.
Charlie met Irene McBride at the YMCA, and together they built a loving home in St. Vital, raising their three daughters. A gifted builder, Charlie created homes, furniture, and even two canoes for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved camping, canoeing, dancing, and spending time with family.
Known for his quiet strength, kindness, and wisdom, Charlie left a lasting impression on all who knew him. In retirement, he and Irene enjoyed many travels and cruises together.
Charlie was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Phyllis Anderson; brother Henry Anderson, and sister Elizabeth Turner. He is lovingly remembered by Irene; daughters, Janice Nelson (Chris), Judy King (Derek), and Jill Trickett (Mark); 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
A memorial open house will be held Sunday, June 28, from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at 34 Wakopa Place - the house Dad built.
